Why do I keep doing this?

Shuffle steering. Keep your hands in one position on the wheel so you can straighten the wheel quickly and accurately. If you are waiting for the wheel to self-straighten you are wasting time.
Also, don’t be afraid of the cones. You gotta be close to be fast. You seemed smooth, you were looking ahead, and you didn’t make any major visible mistakes so it has to be the little, hard to correct things that separate the fast from the rest (I hate those guys and their “talent”).
You also are running a very short, tight, technical course in a BMW, which is the entirely wrong way to spell Miata.

Because there are Pokemon on the course?

Because people need to see your rad helmet, of which I'm legitimately jealous.

It’s just an open face Impact with Stuntman Mike decals that I put on it.

Works for me. Looks good.

Because you can ... I can’t, so keep doing it and let me live vicariously.

Because it’s fun :)
